Crawl Spaces

There are three components that destroy traditional housing materials in general, and wood in particular: water, heat and ultra-violet radiation. Of these, water is by far the most damaging. Therefore, an unsealed dirt crawl space under a home is a very bad idea in the southeast United States . Naturally high humidity in the earth's soil provides the perfect opportunity for water vapor to move easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment.
